After qualifying as an architect in London Jane worked for Michael Hopkins & Partners on IBM's headquarters at Bedfont Lakes and as project architect for the Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh. She then joined Bennetts Associates and in 1995 set up their Edinburgh office. Her experience with the practice included senior roles on the John Menzies and BT Headquarter buildings at Edinburgh Park, the City Inn Hotel, Westminster and Edinburgh University Potterow project. After 11 years with the "2005 Architects of the Year" and having become an Associate Director, she joined her husband's award winning practice to form a+j burridge architects.
